The other reviewers are right – back-up and data transfer speeds for this device are quite slow, and back-up makes it quite twitchy. The software is poorly designed and not at all intuitive.

Also, this device is extremely flimsy. One accidental bump and you’re done.

I also had a 250 GB Toshiba drive that also became rather twitchy after a few months. I say back up your files online – external hard drives are too risky.
